Laurie A. Mitchell, MSAOM, L.Ac., Dipl.OM

Laurie Mitchell is a NYS licensed Acupuncturist and is also dually trained in Chinese herbal medicine. Ms. Mitchell holds Diplomate status in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Ms. Mitchell holds a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine; both from Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine at New York Chiropractic College. Laurie graduated with honors for both degrees.

Laurie won the Shen Nong Herb award for outstanding achievement in Chinese herbal medicine from Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.

Laurie treats patients experiencing a wide range of conditions from chronic pain to internal complaints using Acupuncture as well as customized Chinese herbal formulations. The patient’s needs are met more precisely by way of customizing herbal medicine to meet their exact disease pattern. Laurie’s specialties include painless abdominal acupuncture technique that is a new type of neuroscience acupuncture called “The Turtle Technique” to treat pain conditions. She also practices Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM style) acupuncture as well as Japanese style and two types of scalp micro-system acupuncture.

Ms. Mitchell is happy to accept new patients and is currently credentialed with MVP, Excellus, Cigna, United Health Care, and Aetna.  Please call your insurance company to determine your coverage if you intend to use your health insurance for acupuncture treatment. Chinese herbal medicine is not covered at this time.
